Dying Wheels?

So I'm ordering white on grey sliders and was deciding if i wanted to dye them and I wanted to sooooo

First off, does dying soften up the urethane or damage the wheel in any way? How to dye the wheels the best way with Rit dye, and step by step process.

I would like them to turn out as good as the one shown on this month, (january 2012)'s scooter of the month by Ashley1994. Thanks

no, it doesnt affect the rubber, i recomend you keep dying it, changing toe protency of the dye til ur satisfied cus its hard to get it right first go.

Gotcha, cuz my friend died his wheels and they look alright and Ashley's wheels look sick haha

yeah, keep experementing with it till u get it rigght, just dont boil them too long cus the glue that holds them together can melt.

Yeah that's what im afraid of, I dont want the glue to melt which causes my wheels to dehub faster, because now I want grippers.

Thanks Jay! And as for the amount, should i go 1/4 as he said or 1/2 for new proto wheels he said if i want darker

Personally I would go 1/2.

hey man thanks for the comments i just used the whole sachet/box for a pair of wheel. and put them in when the boiling water had been left for 2mins to cool slightly so it wasnt still at boiling point
