Some of you guys missed the point. The buttercup, as invented by Raymond Warner is a complex motion which involves the crucial phase of twisting a tailwhip into a back briflip. It's a hard and good looking trick if it's done properly.
Now what most of you are refering to as 'buttercups' is mostly a random motion in which the scooter does three tailwhips and goes semi-inverted at some point. You neither have an idea nor control of what you're doing, which results in one shitty trick.
Also there's no such thing as a front buttercup. There's no problem in twisting a whip into a bs front bri/scooterflip or doing them at the same time, and people have been doing double whip front briflip combos a long time ago and no one called them like that. Unless some of you actually did a whip to front bri (without a whip) TO whip (that phase is hard), you can't call the trick a 'front buttercup'.

That's what I call missing the point. Everyone's free to do his own tricks, no matter how ugly they are. But don't use the name of Raymond's trick to name them, at least be creative enough to figure out the motion you did and name it (like 'double whip front bri' or 'inverted triple whip'), or think of a new name if the trick has some distinctive features and is something more than randomly waving your scooter in the air and then landing on it.

look, how can you say a trick is over used? that's like saying tailwhips or barspins are overused, some tricks are just popular, I personally don't like briflips, so I just don't do them. If any trick is overused it's flyout backflips, John Radke is the only one who does backflip combos tranny, but i'm not gonna talk crap on anyone about it.
