the urethane shape is alot different.

No they aren't. They just both have thick bearing cups and edges. The Protos have a very unique core shape that isn't rounded out like the VIP wheels you posted. That, and they were posted up saying they were protos, and Hep Greg commented saying he remembers them and that they broke.
