Probably because most of the people you see riding them are trend fags who go buy a Sector 9 from Zumiez and never actually get into it. I longboard just as much as I scooter, if not more. Especially at night in the cold, nothing better than hauling ass down big hills carving from curb to curb and sidewalk surfing, it's so relaxing.
