Only reason for hating on it is because parts are 2x more than they should be.and SG parts are more expensive than proto parts. It also brings many little kids to my local causing the skatepark to ban scooters in certain areas of the park

Find a 4x4 fabrication shop and see if they can cut it for you. They'll have the Bandsaw and Drill press.

If you weren't so far out I'd cut it for free.

It is not that hard or difficult of a job. You can even do it with a hacksaw and a hand file- for the brake area.

A Drill press certainly makes drilling the Axle hole easier/straight.
