It's not polished, it has a shiny silver powdercoat on it. The bars are chromed.

theyre not chromed. nick darger is one of the few people that had actually chrome plated bars and he said putting the bars into the clamp/getting them out was like impossible because they chrome plating makes the diameter of the bars slightly larger and they bars get stuck in the clamp.
he had to like break his clamp to get the bars out

Yeah, and the kinda of chrome plating that you would see on parts like this, is between .002" to .02" thick. That's two one hundredths of an inch, max.
