err. yes they are. you could have the best wheels in the world but still only get a fraction of the speed of a wheel with good bearings.

Bone's reds are good but THEY DO NOT LAST... Get some Bones Swiss labyrinth shield Bearings... Teh be so fast in smooooth. They make ya wanna slap yo Grandma!

bones makes the best bearings on the market IMO
most researched and developed to my knowledge
also ABEC is a machine test for electric motor bearings it means NOTHING 5,7 or otherwise

just some of my 5 cents for you
we use half as many bearings to support and move something
that's also 5 or so lbs heavier than the object they are intended to support
and it punishes them more on hard impacts and side loads due to this

for our uses i believe that the bones super Swiss 6 is the closest bearing
that suits our needs they are stronger and faster
i do also believe there is room for improvement that would mean going with ceramic balls
to those of you who don't know ceramic balls are harder and stronger than steel balls in general they are also lighter so they accelerate slightly faster. oh and they resurface the races during use so the tracks stay smooth and clean
that's partially why the eagle ceramics are so good
but im sure if they went to a six ball design they could be the best for our needs

I got speed demon titaniums for a good deal, and turns out they don't have a c ring to take apart toclean and relube. Also, they don't seem to spin much when you try to just spin the bearing itself. I normally just ride stocks everyday of my life, constantly changing them, but I don't know how fast, they will be at all, and if they are anywhere near as strong as the ensure. I bet I end up breaking the shields anyway, and not the balls. I was going to return them, but they have to have the seal on them, and the price tag was accidentally thrown away. Fuck...
