Few quick questions..

Well I thought it would be better to make a dumb thread then piss away money so I just have a few quick questions..

- I'd like to get into photography.. I've messed around with a few cameras before and really, really like it.. So I'm pretty damn sure I won't just grow out of it or some shit, I usually stick with shit anyway.
- I'm like everyone else.. Want top quality for basically nothing haha.. But yeah I was looking at a SLR or something, thing is I don't want to buy a cheaper camera and then have to upgrade later to a more expensive thing.. I love figuring things out anyway so it doesn't bother me having to read the instruction manual a few times.
- I want to get into photography not just because of taking photos of riding or whatever.. That would just be pretty much a waste.. Just don't bother to ask why haha.

So yeah, I was looking at a Nikon D50.. I've read a bunch of reviews and done a bit of research on cameras and that and I was thinking that would be a good choice, so I'm just wondering what you all think?
I've already been saving up for a while.. Well it was actually saving for a trip to Sydney but yeah, I worked it all out and I should be able to make enough cash for a trip to sydney for the December holidays.

how are you not even banned or even on a warning.. youve pissed so many people off and so many people hate you, you even tryed to get banned at one point.. i miss the days where people got banned for doubble posts lol

im in a similar situation derek. im thinking about getting a d40 instead of the d50 because the d50 id get used for 500 with no accesories when i got get a d40 for like 550 with accesories brand new with a warrenty. plus i read a comparison between the d40 and the d50 and they said the d40 is easier to use. the only thing is it doesnt have an auto focus motor from what ive heard. im not to sure. it has a bigger lcd too. i might get the d50, i might get the d40 im not to sure.

d40 is almost exactly like the d50..only things that are noticeably different are size and focusing.

d40 you have to manual focus with AF nikkor lenses, d50 you can use auto focus.

d50 has more autofocus points and a larger battery.

so basically the d40 is just a slimmed down d50, seeing as in how it weighs a quarter pound less than the d50.

Ive used both and they both are great cameras. I personally would recommend the d70s (just because they have more features and what not) but they also cost more.

Miles has a d40... i have a d50.. and reeves has a d70s...

seems like a lot of people are getting into SLR's

sad thing is i dont use mine like i used to. thinking about selling it, and my camcorder so i can get a nicer 3ccd cam

But thanks for all the advice so far.. I'll look at some D70s etc.

why do you edit your posts after i reply to them.
your a rich cunt and you could get anything you wanted if you asked your mum and dad. and you have that much money you could piss it away.
and i dont care people hate me, i just dont go around sucking everyones nuts who posts pictures or vids.
