File formats?

My camera uploads videos in the format of QuickTime movie or something which windows movie maker does not support. I do not want to pay for new editing software, so how can I avoid converting every clip every time?

im pretty sure you have to convert every clip everytime......or get a new camera that saves it as a standard file

I just use Pinnacle Studios. but get a file converter or something.

Download better editing software, get a file converter, or there's a program that allows wmm to use .mov files but i can't remember the name right now.

It didn't work with my version of wmm. Dies it work with the new one for certain? If so I will get the new one.
If not what free software accepts .mov files?
