ok, this is a noob question but i was on like snowperception and they were talking about filming manually, how would you do that?

I got myself banned.
Setting your shutter speed, white balance, aperature, focus and stuff like that is putting your camera on manual. You usually can't switch a consumer camera to manual, that applies mostly to prosumer cams.

but like i dont get it do you have to do a bunch of shit while you are recording or is it just like setting up everything before you shoot?

you set everything up before you shoot each clip depending on the conditions that you are shooting in

on my cam it just has a one push thing for white balance, does this really do anything? idk even know what i'm supposed to do with it...usually i'll push the one push button, then i suppose it adjusts it until i push it again. i can't really tell a difference though.

no, aim it at the most white thing you have, and hold down the white balance button.
