A video camera almost always has a 4 pin connector on it. The computer will probably be a 6 pin, laptop is possibly 4.

6 is on the left, 4 is on the right.

hahaha i have a Dell laptop, i bought a 4 to 6 pin firewire but it doesnt fit
and my camera is a panasonic gs80 if that helps
