First Scooter/First Build. Recommended Components?

I'm really into action sports and have some experience with scooters yet this will be my first "real" scooter. Does this sound like a good setup? Any recommendations? I will be doing a lot of street and stuff. Skateparks on occasion.

Deck: District DK-2 V2
Headset: Tilt 1-1/8th
Fork: District FK-2
Bars: District ST-2
Wheels: Eagle 110mm Solid Cores
Bearings: Bones Super Swiss 6 (I have 4 laying around)
Grips: ODI
Clamp: District Double Light
Grip: Vicious

I would recommend getting a integrated deck like district v2i, Envy AOS, Razor Spotlight, Addict, Etc. Also go with different forks and run HIC or SCS!

The District DK-2 V2 is an integrated headset if you're referring to the headset aspect of it. I was considering SCS but can't really find a great Fork/Bar/Clamp combination that is affordable and strong. FK-2 can be modded for SCS but I'd rather not "make it work".

Yea, get an integrated deck, if you want a district deck then get a v2i, not to mention the v2 is really short.

I wouldnt run ics either, I would get an scs

and if I were to make a different bar suggestion, I would say get tsi heptrons

I'm 6ft tall so if I go SCS what is a good bar height? Since I'm a new user I can't post links yet but I'm talking about the District DK-2 V2 on their website and on krypticproscooters the one called DK2-i2 . They both appear to be the exact same. That's what I'm interested in.

I also don't see a problem with having ICS. It appears to have just as many potential issues as anything else.

26" Would be a good bar height for your height :) i think the other guy is getting confused between the dk1 and dk2 haha but yeah the dk2 v2 is intergrated so it all looks good :D

Okay so go with a district V2i if thats what you want. I would definately go with 26" bars like Josh said and the only way your going to get that high of bars is by running SCS. If your worried about price look around find a good price just do not go with district forks you will regret it later.

SCS is better than ICS; with SCS you dont need to run a slit which is safer as the slit in bars is a weak point that they could snap at, SCS does stay tighter and is a lot more ccompatible than ICS or HIC.
The new District st2s do come pretty high now im pretty sure but it depends if you want wider bars or not and if you like backsweep or not as the st2s dont have backsweep.
Eagle wheels chunk easy, they are only good if you want lots of speed but are a really clean rider, for a beginner id recommend Scooter Zone wheels, Proto Sliders or even the new Root Industries wheels arent too bad.

With the district deck I need a fork with a steerer tube longer than 6 inches if running SCS because of district's headtube size. I cannot find a good fork of that size. Tilt and Phoenix are all right at 6 inches or less I think o_O

It isn't recommended though due to less than 1.5 inches covering the bars and since I need tall bars I'm ecspecially weary of that setup.

Youll be fine im running phoenix forks with a district v2i and i dont have any problems but i would recomend a tilt scs for scs and either tsi heptrons or proto baby slayers

He is getting an integrated, read his parts list before you post....

Now ya'll have me thinking...

Deck: District DK-2 V2 or the Helmeri?
Headset: Tilt 1-1/8th
Fork: Tilt Nimbus
Bars: Apex or TSI Heptrons
Wheels: Proto Grippers
Bearings: Bones Super Swiss 6 (I have 4 laying around)
Grips: ODI
Clamp: Tilt SCS
Grip: Vicious

But these new District decks are so wide compared to the others what is the downfall?

I have a little time to think on this as I need to save up a bit. I have one of the original Micro scooters anyhow ;) just feels wayyy small

The Helmeri deck is 4.75 wide x 20.5 long, the DK 2 v2 is 20.8 long x 4.3 wide, personally id go the Helmeri.
Go Heptrons over Apex, Apex are weaker and a lot more expensive.
Id choose Sliders over Grippers but the new sig Grippers seem to be pretty good.
The rest of the parts you listed seem good.

i just got the helmeri deck and its actually 20.89 long
but the deck is amazing, buy it of sho.

The wide feature imo is only good, the only thing is that it is a bit heavier than an skinnier deck
