Fixing Stripped Bolts?

How to i fix a stripped bolt, I've heard of pounding in a larger size allen wrench into the stripped hole and it like recreates a new allen size, and it fits tight. But is there any other way of doing it?

You re-thread it to the next size bolts so remake the thread so they are 6mm and get 6mm bolts.

i use a flathead screwdriver, then i buy better quality bolts with laggre heads so it doesnt happen gain.
