I think if I had a better camera I could make good use of it with a little reading up on filming, I film skateboarders all the tiem and can keep them in an angle perfectly from practically anywhere.

If you have videography class in high school, take it. You'll learn about most of that stuff but some of it was new to me. It doesn't matter about the camera as much as it does your technique. Read that a few times and watch skate or bmx flicks and pay attention to the types of shots, angles, talent position, lighting, ect. The tv is the best teacher in this case.

Not even the TV, you need a professional filmer to show you how to work the camera. If you watch skate videos your just going to steal that filmers style (unless your stealing Ty Evans style you got no problem there). Gotta think origional, and don't use the fisheye in every shot.

nooo. When I say watch videos I don't mean stealing any one's style. I just mean you watch many videos, pay attention to the editing, types of shots, angles, the camera work. Then you create your own style from that. Do it to get ideas then take what you've seen and add your own flare to it. You don't need a pro filmer to show you anything. It would help but it just takes practice. Go out and film random stuff, practice angles and what not. Trust me I know what I'm talking about.

So say i just got a new VX, im gonna have no idea how to use the manual settings correctly. Your deffinatly going to need somone to explain to you how to set up your colors, show you what exposure settings you need in different areas and so on unless you like using auto settings and want all the colors in your footage to look the same as everyone elses.

yes, origional!
i only film people with long lens now, i hardly ever film people with my death on unless they really really wanna do a run. i love finding cool spots and being creative with long lens...some of you will see one day whenever i put up a video for public to see.

Are you guys cool too, putting a hand infront of the camera when you are done filming, and using the one and only Half Hand! HahaYoull; know what I am talking about if you've gone onto SP.
