I don't know when I started this, but I recently noticed that when I ride, and do tricks, my foot is like resting on top of the brake. No one else I know rides like that, so I'm wondering if that's a bad habit and if I should try to learn to ride with both feet on the deck. Although when I do whip tricks, my feel rarely ever land on the brake. Any advice would help. Thanks!

I dont get how people ride on their brake haha. It doesnt necessarily look bad or anything if you can pull it off so i wouldnt worry about it. I spread for most tricks except like fingerwhips and bri's

I ride with my heel on my brake for mannys but not for anything else. If it doesn't affect your riding, don't worry about it.

It looks queer to ride with your foot on the brake, thats what I hate about Chema's style. I'd just learn to ride both feet on the deck evenly spread out.

One thing I feel is under-emphasized in scootering is having different foot placement for different tricks. If you play around with it and find which placement you like for certain tricks it can really help. I personally like to spread my feet for frontside spins, put my feet back for whip tricks without a spin, off the brake but pressed together for a big 180, and so on. You should consider trying it to see if you like it or not.

Alright thanks guys lmao. I'll work on riding with my feet normally.

do you what you want don't listen to people. If having your foot on the brake comes naturally to you then do it, your riding will be better if it feels more natural.
Anyways, having your foot on the break was like the shit until 2011. Go watch Opus, I'm pretty sure that Stefan Hefner was the only person in the video who didn't have their back foot on the brake.

Okay, thanks guys haha. I was trying it today and and after like 45 minutes, I still didn't have half of my tricks back. Although, some tricks, like heels, 360s and, trucks came easier tho. Anyway, its good to know there's others out there lol.

This is why you will never be good Hamish, because you worry about what scootering looks like. The people who look the best while on their scooter are the ones worrying about what it feeeeeeels like.

Good enough to fuck your mum, thats all I care about. I just never learned to ride like a queer so what's comfortable for me is what looks normal anyway. Mongo push and rank stance ruins any video.

i usually ride with my back foot resting on the brake and my front foot flat but lately since I got my 22 Threshold I've just been riding with both my feet flat, there a lot of people who ride with their back foot over the brake, I would'nt stress about it
