Fork idea thing

This is my idea of a fork that is quite similar in design to the original SR forks, but I think that this would be a simple design, yet effective, and can even be made pretty easily if you have a welder. The picture is pretty much self-explanatory.

with my idea you can make it yourself if you have a welder. It does look kinda fugly, but the point is it'll be strong as fuck and home-makeable, and you can customize it to whatever size wheel you want on it.

pretty much all you need to make it is:
-a piece of sheet metal (for the middle of the fork, in between the bottom of the tube and and legs, and possibly for the gussets behind the fork legs)
-a tube (1 1/8" OD)
-some square tubing
-a circular saw/table saw (for cutting the square tubing straight to make it look nicer at the bottom of the fork. Not a necessity, so a hacksaw can be used instead.)
-a hole saw (it's basically a blade that attaches onto a drill like a drill bit, you can find one at any hardware store). This is to make a hole in the sheet metal so that the forktube can go in and be welded on both sides to make it stronger.
-a drill with a 5/16" bit
-a 5/16" bolt, and washers,etc. to use as the axle.

And no, logan didn't make that, he got it off some off-brand noodle and made them solid non-suspension forks and they're gnar as hell, but good luck finding them anywhere...

2.Making a fork isn't as easy as you think it is. You forgot about how to fit the bottom headset race.

1. Is that the one on the heavy motherfucking scooter of yours? I don't remember what it looked like, but I'd imagine it would be super strong.

2. I did think about that actually, but then I remembered that they come with headsets and you can just slip them onto the fork. This would compromise some strength because you couldn't weld underneath it because it wouldn't be straight, but then I thought of welding a spacer between the top of the fork legs thing and the headset race, something like a piece of pipe, or even better a very large washer cut with a hole saw so that it fits around the welded area and prevents the headset race from becoming uneven. This idea is kind of confusing to explain, but if I ever get my hands on a welder in the near future I'm going to make this into a future project thing and I'll see how it turns out.

Think twice. Maybe what you just said sounds too confusing to me, but the fork race doesn't slide directly onto the forktube. There's a tiny bit at the bottom of the tube which is a little bit thicker and you press or hammer the race onto it. You have to feature it if you're making the fork or else the race will wobble.
