french id pinned forks?

please someone tell me what it mean by pinned forks???????

the glue holding the fork together wasn;t strong enough or something, so putting a pin through it keeps it together..not posititve, but i think

^ Pretty much right there. They have a pin that goes through the forktube and the legs which keeps them from separating.
