fsa headset problem

well i need to loosen my headset so when i take the top nut off that tightens the headset the part that covers the bearings wont come off u know that peace u put threw the forks that says FSA the pig (not the bottom bearing cup) the peace that close's the top baring cup how do i get that peace off?!

its the compression ring u have to hit the top of ur forks with a mallet so they slide off

Get a rubber mallet and bang the top of your forktube about 2 times. It should slide right out.

If you use a flathead and a hammer you will mess that little ring up.

Yeah, unless you have a superthin screwdriver, that will fuck up the ring.
Rubber mallot is perfect.
