your not going to find a decent looking fuel efficient car
1. because when they make a fuel efficient car they make it for the majority of ppl that will be buying one not some kid who wants a sports car with a high mpg
2. there would be little point in making a sports car with a high mpg because the high mpg cars are very slow and sports cars are meant to be fast good looking cars
3. if they did make a sports car that was a hybrid or had over 40 mpg it would be wayyy out of everyones price range and if you did have enough money you should be investing in a real sports car

My dad got about 55mpg out of his fiat panda a while back, now hes on lpg gas in his fiesta which is only at like 30mpg but its half the price of petrol in this country so hes getting basicly double amount. Good for him though since hes a driving instructor and drives all the time.

The Tesla is fast as shit! Out runs most sports cars with ease.

Great looking car

The point is, you will make up for the price by saving on gas.

Do you have any idea how much mpg a REAL sports car gets? It's TERRIBLE

Lamborghini Murcielago gets something like 8 or 9 mpg.
and like a 15 liter tank.
so good luck with that.
and those fucking things can cost 300,000 easy.

the body of a car has nothing to do with whats in it, most people want a cool looking car and theyve been steadily making cheaper cars cooler looking for a few years.
EXCEPT FORD B/C FORD FUCKING SUCKS and the fit and shit like that are tiny cheapass commuter cars a new fit is like 11,000.
the smart car i think is dumb, b/c america has huge cars and youll get killed in that thing, plus its for 2 passengers. i want that electric 4 person mini van i see at colleges prertty much supped up golf cart.

and tanner your a retard sports cars have low mpg b/c they suck up so much energy. cheap fast cars with decent gas died in the 70s with unleaded gas.
as long as you can supply the energy with a new technology that is efficient, you can make it as fast as you want, there is no point in making a fast hybrid b/c theyre making it to be a cheap environmentally friendly car for the average family.

and last time i checked sports car ARE OUT OF EVERYONES PRICE RANGE, especially if your a kid and your parents arnt loaded, you people buy old models.
unless some of you can afford a brand new 25,000 basic car and the gas that goes with it.

Investing in a real sports car? what the telsa isnt a sports car? rich people who buy them dont even go to race tracks to race them. they cant fucking drive. stick to your limo bitch.

its called an effing turbo people. if you have a turbo'd 4 cylinder you will get good gas millage as long as you stay out of boost. but it can still go pretty damn quick if you step on the gas

1. a sports car is anything that looks good basically.... i drive an rsx and thats a sports car, the new camrys are considered sports cars
2. cheap fast cars died in the 70s?? really so wut do u call a subaru wrx, sti or an evo?? they are just as fast as any 100,000 dollar sports car
3. obviously you havent been to a real street legal drag race, 75% of the ppl there are old guys driving sports cars

I'd be down to have a Smart car, those things are sweet. Shame they're so expensive though. But they are actually really strong, they have like a steel cage deal or something that makes them really safe.

im not sure if you mean decent looking and affordable RIGHT now? or someowhat in the future.
1) new fuel efficient cars are a lot better looking then the past hybrids, because those were just commuters. new things are somewhat more expensive technology and they want them too look cool. and just generally over the past few years companies have been getting out of the 'bubble' look to something a lot sleeker or reminiscent of a more awesome generation. im gonna def say i dont know that much about riceburners. ive been to a single dragrace.
2) theyre making a hybrid eclipse. toyota made or is making some crazy looking hybrid sports car, lotus made one, and honda had that sports car i dont remember what it was, that one was like 20. all im saying is they have the technology fine to make it as fast as you want. and define sports car. do you mean real sports cars that are like mad$$ or sporty affordable car... also i know that the honda h fuel cell chassis built a lot lighter to accomidate to some random shit that i totally forgot.

all im saying is they totally have the technology, and for it not to be inexpensive. but if you dont think gas companies are running the world youre crazy.

and that thing i was saying about the sports cars in the 70smore like 68 or something, american companies were spewing out a billion (not really) sports cars left and right b/c they could be made super cheap and the engines ran faster on unleaded gas, until they made the big change, and they had to take all that shit off the market.

The term sports car is pretty much dead now. Theres too many "sports cars" out there. I bet people consider a 4 cylinder xB a sports car because scion makes it.

the hybrid honda civics top speed is 110, and im sure you could push that, civics handle well.

average nascar speed is like 180.
the telsa which is totally electric tops out at 130. but its a luxury sports car so $$$
