GIMP Editing

Mmkay so I'm very new to Photo taking and editing but I kinda would like to get into it so I've downloaded GIMP and had a wee play with some photos my girlfriend took. Please tell me what you think and/or what I could do better:

I know haha. You cant do much editing with a washed out, out of focus photo.

best way is download to iphoto and push enhance haha thats what i always do

After? I could make the details and colors pop out really good, but you where supppper blurryy so I did by best to make you match the level of detail hahaha.
