Gnarly fisheye?

also theres fisheyes this wide ive seen pictures of them like you dont have to use photoshop or anything

thats like 360 degree viewing..theres no way you wouldnt have to use photoshop because at the very least you would have to edit yourself out of the picture right?

oh no but there is a timer...

but waittt... what in the hell would a 360 degree field of vision lens look like? haha impossible without photoshop id say.

I got myself banned.
These things are way too wide for fisheye, you would probably see the camera in the shots if they were using one. Also, from the look of the angles, if it was a fisheye shot it looks like they would have the camera pointing at the ground, so they would need some kind of crane type deal to hang the camera from, and that would get in the shot. My guess is they took a 360 panorama shot, and used some program to morph the pictures together.

why dont you guys do it? it seems so simple you dont even have to have a panorama you can just do it from a regular picture it doesnt look hard at all
if i had photoshop on my computer i would do it right now but i gotta wait till school tomorrow

none of these are made from panoramics, so they could be way better i just dont have the software to piece photos together and the time to

Seriously, you have to love wikipedia, I found it ages ago and just remember it.

"The widest lens ever produced was a 6 mm circular fisheye made by Nikon. Initially designed for an expedition to Antarctica, it featured a 220-degree field of view, designed to capture the entire sky and surrounding ground when pointed straight up. This lens is still manufactured by Nikon upon special order[2], and is used nowadays to produce interactive virtual-reality images such as QuickTime VR and IPIX. Because of its very wide field of view, it is very large and cumbersome - weighing 5.2 Kg (11.5 lb) and having a diameter of 236 mm (9.3 in). It dwarfs a regular 35mm SLR camera[3] and has its own tripod mounting point, a feature normally seen in large long-focus or telephoto lenses to reduce strain on the lens mount because the lens is heavier than the camera.

An 8mm fisheye lens, also made by Nikon, has proven useful for various scientific uses because of its equidistant (equiangular) projection, in which distance along the radius of the circular image is proportional to zenith angle."

Dylan, if you did those without having them be two mirror images it'd be awesome, I dunno if you can without having a panorama, though.

Brian, that's what I was thinking. I remember seeing a picture sort of like that in the thread about that fisheye.
