good beginner camera?

I was looking in the camera thread and all the beginner point and shoot cameras were no longer on the website. so i was wondering whats some other good cameras?

To start out, yes. But I would prefer something much better than that like a t2i or something so you don't get bored with the lack of settings once you start getting good.
