theres an hic shim up there i should be goodget an old fork and cut a couple inches off it and stick it up the bars then it'll be all good dude
I cut the slit to the point where its not coming out of my scsthe shim has to be solid with no slit itself otherwise whats it tightening against? No good shim doesn't have a slit so I'm gonna assume it has. put a forktube up inside the shim than you are fine
sz with the taper on the bottomnot making much sense. what brand shim?
All i can say is you must have a solid something in there other wise you are clamping to nothing and your clamp will fuck up
well if an hic shim fits in the bars then im assuming theyre oversized...So it has a slit that goes up most of the way. You must have a forktube longer than the slit to work and the shim should ideally be bigger than the top 1/2 or the scs so it also reinforces the bars at the weak point in bars but if used with wrong fork may make the fork (light alloy) the weak point.

i was aware they were oversized, i said put forktube in shim meaning the hic shim[/quote/]this is all kinda retarded ill just cut the slit off completely and get them tapered lol
And i did search for the same topic; there is a thread but it didnt really touch base on oversized bars
