Grinding rails

Don't ride into it unless it's high and you just wanna salad it, what I find is good go at it from the side and turn your deck so it's perpendicular to the rail, the rest is just balance and committing.

Progression is the key. Start with flat rails, then go to smaller rails, etc. Shouldn't matter if the rail is round or square, since you are getting on top of it anyways.

Get on top of the rail, and commit to it. As long as you don't slip out, nothing bad will happen. If anything, lean forward, if you stick you can hop out of it.

Also, as dpnelson31 said, if you can hop out of the rail, and actually do tricks off, like whips and stuff, you're doing it right.

Start by tapping the end of the rail until you are confident that you will make it on top of it. I know how you feel haha, I had this problem a lot when I first started doing rails. Makes you feel like you're missing out on so much

okay so out of all the wonderful advice I think what helped most is that its all in the arms

you dont really think that it is, but once you can control a grind with your bars, it helps alot

True. And being right on top of the rail makes it so much easier.

But when I'm trying to do a higher rail I just don't believe that I can get ontop of it or even salad it and I probably can't, I find it hard to commit to rails and stuff

Best advice I ever got was the more speed the easier which is so true and relax on the rail once u get tense ull mess up if your relaxed you'll land clean every time

Try relaxing your legs and pulling with your arms once you've hopped and you need a little more when you're trying to get the height.

Start small and work your way up. No one will tell you how to grind a rail, you have to figure it out. If you're scared, man the fuck up. If you're TERRIFIED, don't do it, you probably wont commit and you will die.

True, especially when going on un-level rails where you have to use you arms a lot to get square with the grinding surfac
