Halfbar-to-Turndown

If you don't get the name of the trick, basically you do half a barspin then grab the barspin halfway and pull it into a turndown possition. I havn't seen anyone do it but it looks really cool in my mind. I attempted it maybe 50... 60 times I havn't come close. Ussually I get the half barspin and catch it then I can't pull it back into the turndown possition. Or I miss the bars and the scooter goes flying off behind me.

Has anyone done it before? Is there any footage about it somewhere?

haha jonny.

i think he means like throw half a barspin then catch it IN a turndown position. instead of catching a barspin THEN throwing a turndown..
BUTTT that wouldnt really work..

it'd be like a little suicide no-hander to turndown.

i think he was thinking like the same concept of a whip to nac or t-down though like in one of kcs videos somewhere.

i looked around and this seems like the best place to put it without starting a new thread so...... whats the difference between a turndown and a lookback?? can sum1 explain in great detail so a n00b like me can get it haha

You don't land with your bars backwards, you spin the bars halfway while moving into a turndown, then catching them halfway in the turndown possition, then pulling out of it. (meaning your bars are not backwards when you land) I think it's a little different from a barspin then a turndown, because you're doing both tricks at once, you're litterally doing the motion of a turndown then catching the bars halfway.

ohh, k.

turndowns and lookbacks are practically the same on a scooter, their hard to tell apart sometimes. Basically a turndown is more vertical looking (l), and a lookback is more horizontal (-)

I hope Ryan doesn't mind me using his pics, but they're good examples.

Turndown:

The thing with them is that you kick out the deck of your scooter and turn your bars, kind of like a lookback, except you bring the scooter back again, instead of following it (otherwise you would land fakie). I don't know if this is a good explanation, so someone correct me if it's kind of sketch.

Lookback:

Lookbacks are similar to t-downs except you follow your scooter kind of. because you do the turndown movement, except all you have to do to get out of them is twist your bars back to normal, so you're basically 'following your scooter.' That's why their generally used in spins and in qp airs. Again, I don't know my stuff 100%, and if I'm right then it should hopefully clear things up, but I think I still don't have it right so please point me in the right direction if I'm wrong.

And the half-bar to turndown thing I still am not 100%. From what I take it it seems like a no hander to turndown, because if you catch it with your hands in the turndown position and it only does half a barspin, you're pretty much just letting it go for two seconds and then finishing the turndown. It might look cool if you do it one handed though.

I thought look back was more like when you move your body around the scooter rather than kick the deck out

all it is is pointing the deck the opposite of the way you are landing it doesnt matter how you do it but most ppl just kick the deck out

yeah, that's what I was trying to say, but I guess it didn't really come out clearly enough...
