hang5

Hold on and don't fear falling over the bars. Just use your leg to keep balance and aim for a spot where you want to land.

borrow someones scooter that has a steep headtube, then once you get it do it on your scooter. the main thing is to practice, practice, practice, i used to literally not be able to hang 5 like even a metre and i just practiced for ages and now i got em

Contrary to what most people will tell you, I think that most people are mislead when it comes to hang 5's. They get told that you balance mostly with the foot off the scooter, when in reality, most of the balancing motion comes from your foot on the headtube kicking the deck foward (when you're about to go over the bars) and backwards (when your back wheel is about to hit)
The foot that hangs off the scooter pretty much just compensates for whatever your other foot does. The reason why hang 5's are easier than nose manuals is because your centre of gravity is better placed over the front wheel, because both feet are around that area, instead of having your back foot all the way by your dropouts.

this actually makes a lot of sense but its not exactly how i do them. i use my upper body as well.

Yeah but buying new parts so you can do new tricks is stupid, it makes you think that it's the scooter that's stopping you from doing them.

A good setup does help though. Lastnight i was doing them on my mates V2i with 0 offset SMX and its soo easy.

I learned hang 5's with 10 degree offset, it's really not that much different once you've found your balance point. Though it is really easy, yes, to do nose tricks with zero offset forks. But seriously, hell with people's advice; just PRACTICE that's all you need to do. Nothing else, PRACTICE

^^ this. learn with your foot on the head tube and slowly take it off as you get better. Also set up cones or use the cracks on the ground to measure distance to get farther and farther. also try it at a skatepark it's easy to learn on smooth concrete.

Just practice man. I started doing them like 6 months ago, and only like 2 days ago i learned whips out. Keep your stomach over your front wheel. What deck do you have? I find them easiest on Phoenix's and ultra pros.

Hang 5's are just a matter of practise, I, myself prefer to hang 5 forks with offset, but if you start with a 0 offset its way easier to learn them. My advise is just to practise, practise, practise and don't be afraid to fall. My V2i with 0 offset SMX's is amazing to hang 5 with. Once in the right position, I can hang 5 for ages.
