No amateur photographer i've seen attempt HDR has turned out like that.
You'll need a HDR program, and multiple exposures of the same photo.
Good luck, you'll need it.

My oh my kids on here are so stupid. Using photoshop to adjust levels, colors, and cropping meaning you suck? Photoshop is like a required tool for professional photographers. Think before you speak.

I was talking about photos in general in my post, which you know already i guess. I don't mind HDRs they are pretty sick, something different to look at.

if you want to do HDRs get photomatix pro. take a bunch of different pictures, some overexposed some underexposed then merge them in photomatix. also, shoot in RAW if you're doing HDRs.

I agree with Brian, but there's only so much photoshoping I can tolerate. HDR's seem more like digital art than photography.
