i dont have a long bolt to connect my steer tube to my fork but i do have a starnut thingy. what do i d0 ?

or usually if there is no bolt that long then just get a threaded rod theyre usually like 4-6ft long but just cut to size and use a nut for what would be the head of the bolt. and if you dont like it just use that to get it on then when you tighten down your clamps you can remove the bolt (or rod and nut) so that your scoot is still rideable but you'll only need the bolt for tightening your headset.

no i was talking about the headset but i got it

edit: but now i put it together wrong and i cant get this piece off which im assuming is the compression ring or whatever its called is there a way to get it off? i have an aheadset... actually i got it off now but i pretty much destroyed it but i would like to know why it was so hard to get off or if i did something wrong
