Yeah, my headset is al rusted cause while I was gone for a while my mom set it out front instead of the garage and now my headets got alot of rust on it. And, I tried using one from an old scooter but it too big. Im using an A Model (not old) and I could order a BMX headset but I dont know if its worth it. What should I do?

I'm guessing since it's rusted it doesn't spin lol, you could go to a local hardware store and see if they sell anything that derusts it, otherwise don't waste your time trying to fix it if it's really bad just see if you can get another headset from a friend, i don't see the need to buy a bmx headset but go ahead if it's your last option.

its not worth it i bought a pig sealed and it seems the same just get a stock headset off a other scooter or just switch stems

Uhhh. Dismental ( spelling fo sho) the headset and look wheres rusted. I'm pretty sure its the balls which are rusted. Take the balls out gently and get some sand paper and sand the rust off. It might be hard as hell to sand it all so sand it till you think it will at least spin and then spray some WD-40 on it and just wipe it off. No need to wipe it off so good. After wiping , lube it with oil and put chunks of grease. What ever shit thing there is to reduce friction. Fix it back up and ride it for a while. It might be a little weird like rough at times and so just keep riding and the rust won't be able to rust more but might go less.

BMX headsets are up to you. I bought my FSA pig and those bottom balls are huge. I am thinking of modding it by having the cleanest headset in the world other than sealed. Ceramic balls inside. No need lubrication meaning no shit will get attracted to it , stronger than metal balls and faster too! Whoa.

Sandpaper on a ball bearing? No way, the WD-40 should be fine. Grease will just slow down the bearings, don't put it in there. I just cleaned a headset today with alcohol and put no lube on at all and it spins like crazy.

that will only last a week man

Uhh This is weird. I'm sort of agreeing with Mcqee? No way. uhh lol anyway , Brian Boston , your the pro with mods and all. Pro with microwave ovens too but I don't really think no lube is good as it will rust the bearings. To me , sanding the balls are fine. Its not made of rubber and so only the rust will come out.Pretty good eh?Lube may not work? Uhh no need to use lube. Use what ever. Lemonade , coke , grease , motor oil and anything to make it all chunks of crap in there. After like a few months than clean that shit and you might get some pretty non rusty balls but if its not , let it go for another spin.

lol.

same. except it was on friday. I am looking to get a light oil because everyone recommends not using WD-40. I cleaned out all my bearings (headset and wheels) and headset cups and stuff. This is the tightest ive been able to have my nuts on the fork be down and still have my bars spin good. No play at all. (and the reason for this post is-- anyone know where i can get some "light oil" as many recommend?)

Chris Bartnicki has been running no lube for awhile and everyone says the same shit, but he has no problems. I'm not riding the scooter i have the lube-less headset on right now though.

How is a dry headset only going to last a week? Without lube theres nothing in there for dirt and poop to stick to if it gets in my headset.

And Dibble get 3 in 1 oil, probably the 'lightest' stuff you can find, works good too.

i don't have any lube in mine, and it spins just fine. its not like i do "gnarly quadruple barspin airouts". lol

Hmm cool. I'm trying to take out those left over shit grease out of the balls ball cage of the FSA pig. It stays there so stubbornly .Any suggestion how to take em out?
