HEADSET PROBLEMS!

my threadless headset will not stop coming loose
i have an SR v2.2 fork
i can tighten my compression bolt but after a few tricks it comes loose again
does anyone know the problem???

do u have a nut that screws on rgiht after the headset because if u dont thats the problem, u have to have that in to old it in place

the crown race is probally not all the way down when you dont put the crown race allthe way down and then tighten the nut your going to hvsave to keep tightening the nut till it goes all the way down

ya threadles is different oh!!!!!!! i have the fix put lock tight on your compression bolt threads then tighten it how tight you want and like it sit for like 24 hours that should work or just let the lock tight dry however long it says to let it.

its a liquid and you put it on threads of bolts and its like a glue but you can loosen the bolt later its just once its dry and you loosen it the lock tight is bad but it will hold the bolt from coming undone go to a car parts store or a hardware store they should have it.

alright well i don't have much expreience with threadless scooter forks but i would imagine that the compression systym would be like the top cap and starnut on a bike. i kept having this same problem on my bike and it turned out that it needed to hammer the starnut into the fork deeper because it was just bottoming out when i would tighten up the top cap instead of actually compressing against the headset like it should be. so maybe give that a try and let me know if it works. :D

umm i was just wondering like could someone tell me how to dial a stock headset.. i know it sounds dumb but ive had ppl tell me that u can make a stock headset good enough to ride at no cost... like do i just mess with it or what.. any tips ?

i ride a stock headset and i haven't done anything to it other then take of that one extra nut thing that threads on but it is still pretty dialled

make sure you tighten it cause i had a $80 headset and didnt bother tightening it and it ended up breaking
i rode without a headset for like 2 weeks after that

well like when i got my first pro last year it was dialed but now when i get my pro's they come loose as shittt and i have to fiddle with it but seriously taking off the top nut works ?

it can but it give s you extra threads to clamp to and it makes it easier to adjust. you could also lube the bearings with something and that would make it smooth. but it will make them louder and not as good sounding sometimes.

idc about the way it sounds personally i just want a headset that stay tight but rides smooth and good but im not buying a bike headset cuz i know stock can be pretty dialed so can anyone HELP ME lol PLEAse
