Headset Woes

Alright guys. Question #1: Can i run a new headset (such as the Sealed FSA Pig) without having to shell out for some fancy compression system as well?
Question #2: If so, does this mean ill have to go with threadless or threaded forks?

So to confirm, before i go ahead and order all my parts, if i go for a threaded zero offset fork, threaded bars and get an FSA 1-1/8 Headset, it will work?

But yes that setup will do fine,
Just make sure you have the nut from your stock threaded fork.
That is known as the compression nut.
That is how threaded compression works.

and thredles headsets work on threded forks u can ither use a compression sytem or the nut that comes wit ur scoot

Okay, makes sense. Thanks alot guys, your tons of help. I was planning on getting my local bike shop to install the headset, as they will do it for free if i buy it from them and they can definitely do it better than i can. Do you think they would know what to do with the compression nut, or is it something that only a scooter-experienced person would know what to do with?

Okay here is what you do.
You take in your headtube, and compression nut.
You say to them you want the stock headset race (Which is on your fork)
And the stock headset cups (Which is in your headtube)
Removed
Next you get them to install your new headset race on the fork,
And your new headset cups in the headtube.
After which you properly insert the bearing races with bearings in the cups, put the fork through the headtube and put the top cap over the fork.
Finally you screw your compression nut on until there is no play in your headset.

Non sealed, Is basically an upgraded stock headset.
So take a look at that for refernce.

Sealed is more like a BIG skateboard bearing.

rite, you can use aftermarket (fsa etc.) headsets on threaded or threadless. Compression is only needed on threadless, its wat stops the headset from wobbling, on threaded forks you just need top put the nut above the headset to keep the headset in place like before.
