headset's fork cap

Hello,
ive seen the visual mod bible and didnt really understood it.sorry for taking up some space but let me ask something. when u change the headset,in pictures of headsets it looks like one whole piece but is it actually just stacked up together when they take a picture? so the bottom part of the headset goes to the bottom part of the neck and the top part goes to the top part of the neck and you wont need the fork cap right?

sorry for taking up space ( but i cant understand crazy cody's mod bible thing.

The fork cap is only for bikes, so no, you don't need it.

no u do!! if u run a fsa pig headset u must use the fsa fork race/cap bcoz it is oversized for the fsa bearings if u dont use it there is no point in buying a fsa headset

it means that the topbolt is so oversized that the steertube will not fit over the topbolt.

i think gorrillaman means the topcap the bit that you use to tighten the headset on a bike, it doesn't work on a scooter because scooters have threaded forks.

however you do need the silver forkcap on the left of the below picture

the reason yous are getting so confused is because the cap is for bikes (the first picture) and in the second picture the silver thing that touches the bearing is called a race not a cap.

Hey guys,i understand now.farmboy uk's describtion was VERY clear.thanks. oh ive ordereed my FSA pig headset from ebay.is there any lubricating on the bearings needed?

just pit some greese inside the cup's then put the bearings in, it works a treat!

I disagree, I think it's possible to shove it up to the bottom of the fork instead of the default plastic one, lol.
