Hi all been really busy trying to sort loads of things out, almost got the deck prototype finished now, got almost everything else to bolt it together just taking time to get the main bit right! I have put a picture of a cross section in an album I just started so you can see that it is a seriously strong deck, any comments always good! Sorry not a finished deck picture yet but at least you can see its real! Also have been working with a bearing company to make our own bearings and they are makeing us some top grade ceramic ball bearings with nylon cages and removable seals so real bones swiss type quality stuff but for 4 bearings for scooters will be able to do them for £22 a set or £40 for 8 for a skateboard, which I reckon should save a lot of people money, any feedback on this, good or bad all welcome so we can get not only our scooters right but any extra parts like the bearings too, main thing is we want to make really good products but sell them at real prices rather than try to make a fortune out of everyone with huge profit margins. Cheers, Joel.

Hi, the headtube will go into the deck and be welded top and bottom like the phoenix decks rather than welded to the top like district for extra strength.

Pic of deck for the lazy people

i have a few ideas
the thickness of the two support rails down the middle of the deck, trade weight and make the underside of the deck thicker. or use three strips of slightly thinner metal, two down the edges near the wings and one down the centre. just for the bit of added strenth as well as too counteract the force exerted on the middle of the deck. backfliping and such makes even the best of scooter decks bend in the middle and then crack at either end of the scooter. having a great deck design is a massive drawpoint. great design all in all tho.

the thickening of the bottom is the major one tho. ive got reos around 3mm thick and the still bend easy.

great design tho. looks really good as well. and have you added the cost of logo stickers or painting of the scooter into the final price. and if you could get just the deck and forks out to sydney australia id be happy to market the scooter to the market out here. good scooter design is a rare thing now there are the momentum and mumbo scooters just in it for the money!!!

probably just do a extra set of walls right before the curve starts and it shouldnt bend. anyone noticed how thin a phoenix is?

Thanks for all of the great feedback, we are going to test the deck out but totally agree about making the bottom thicker and maybe adding a third wall inside and moving the existing two out a bit, all good stuff. Appreciate the offer of helping to market in Australia too, I have made a not and will definately keep you updated on progress and when we have a finished product will sort something out with you as would be good to carry on with the people who are helping out now. Keep all the feedback coming as much easier to change things now than later and want to get it right first time as I think that alot of what companies charge is their development time rather than what it actually costs to make your deck, we are trying to do it so you just pay for your deck, if we waste 2 years making crap prototypes thats our problem, lol!

you also might have a problem with teh name in some countries as ther is a brand (Lifes good) that own the trademart to the LG signature. Just a thought tho.

Thanks for all the comments so far folks, we have carried on with the deck as shown in first picture just to get a headtube fitted and get it a bit more like the finished article to do some strength tests and also to get some feedback as far as the look etc. goes. It is very phoenix as people have said before but at the end of the day the design makes sense so no point trying to re-invent the wheel, especially as we are trying to make a great product at a good price rather than make a gimmick that is overpriced if that makes sense! Not saying the inside walls wont change because we will try some of the suggestions make on earlier posts but at least you can see what we have now, I have put a photo on my album of the bare metal deck and then after colouring it gold just for a more finished look, what does everyone reckon? Still looking like the estimated prices we said before are on the money too so fingers crossed its going to be good all round.
