Help please!

Okay, so I recently got my scs, and I was just putting it on my bars, without any compression ect, just the bars in with the shim inside it, i took the pictures and tried to take it out, it literally won't come off.
I tried stepping on the bars and pulling really hard and it won't budge... Is there something i can do?
Please help me.

the scs off the bars, or get somthing flat like a piece of wood and set it on the scs and hammer the piece of wood.

I hammered the crap out of it with a mallet. not a budge.
I think Its because it had a slit. I didn't even think of that.
Well I guess the best option is to do this:
.Cut the part of the bar that the SCS is stuck on, off.
. put something like a old forktube in the SCS
.hammer the forktube so it hits the proto star thats in it so that the shim and the bar piece both come out
then ive got the slit off, and i can install it normally.
Are there any flaws in this plan?

take the bolts out and put it in the opposite side, and put a coin in the slit of the scs and tighten the bolt.
