Ive been comparing the two for the past two weeks. im drawn to features on both. i know how to adjust ISO, shutter speed and aperture and what each does. Im accustomed to the canon due to using parkers when i can. and price isnt a factor cause my mom just wants to make sure i get the right camera for my needs.
Rebel is way better in low-light, cause it has barely any noise. But the are about the same in day-light, but the Rebel still has more mega pixels. The D40 isn't better than the canon in anyway, except....auto iso. Which you don't need in the first place.
haha yeah i heard the D40 was a great value due to the user friendly interface and the fact that it can help new photographers take extraordinary pictures.
