HIC shim stuck in bars

I searched the forum for this problem, but the other people that had it were slightly different. My HIC shim is stuck in my bars because I got it with my bars from scooterzone and it came with the compression cap, but I didn't want to use it because it was cut down and looked bad.(Which is a bit stupid I know as it's in my bars and no-one would see it). So anyway, I used the compression cap that came with my headset and it was too big by about a millimetre so I got a block of wood and hammered my bars on, but the problem is I didn't tighten my HIC properly and it vibrated itself undone while I was riding. Does anyone have any idea how I can get the compression cap and shim out without damaging them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if it's an aluminum shim it's really easy to bend so take a screwdriver and stick it under the shim since the compression cap is holding in there.

The compression cap, take a screwdriver and smack it so it's sideways and take a long needle nose plier and rip it out.

The shim came with my bars it's the scooterzone shim, is it aluminium. If I don't have long needlenose pliers what could I do?

Take a coathanger and bend it in a way that when you push it up it kinda acts like a starnut so you can pull it out.
