Hic Shim Stuck

yeah well my hic shim is stuck in my viper bars and i cannot get them out at all... i mean its stuck in there and it wont budge.

any ideas?

Bend a coat hanger into a fish hook kinda deal that you can stick up there and use to pull it out.

i doubt a coat hanger would work, i mean its really stuck in there.

and ive searched and tried all the ideas but they dont work.

Use a torch to heat the bars, then use the coat hanger to pull it right out.

Don't just doubt it'll work and blow it off you might as well try it. Plus there are other things like coat hangers but that are stronger you could try.

find a tiny screwdriver and jam it between the shim and the bars. pry it away from the bars and the shim should pop out a little. use a hand vice grip or pliers or something and pull it. Or, if the slit of the hic shim isnt lined up with the bar slit, drill a small hole in the shim through the bar slit. jam something in the hole and hammer down. it wont mess up the bars and the shim will be fine.

no, its not. this only happens if you don't tighten your top cap bolt enough. It's not a flaw of HIC.

Try bike wheel spokes.

If you don't have any laying around just ask your local bike shop if they have an old one or something.

this happened to my friend. the shop put it together. do you have inward hic? i hate sticky hic
