How do u get tapes onto ur computer and what software do u need

i have an older sony handycam and its pretty nice but it uses tapes, and i dont know how to get those tapes onto my computer my friend says i need a dv cord or soemething like that. so what do i need and where can i get what i need for the videocamera, ik there is some way to do it cause alot of people use tapes

is it a mini dv or digital 8? if yes you just need a firewire cable and windows movie maker or i movie.

The camera is high 8, its analog not digital. Dazzle is a little device you plug into your computer and it has AV jacks on it, you can connect any AV device to it and stream video and audio to the computer and capture it with the software it comes with. You can also buy a TV tuner video card with AV jacks on it, but you need to install those in your computer.

ok then that is what i will get, but one more question i heard the dazzle takes up like 7 gigs in ur computer is that ture cuz if it does my computer is goin to be slower than frozen water coming out of a cup
