not really. you just hammer it down the steering tube using a pipe or a piece of old t-tube. but make sure it is in straight, that it is at the right depth, and that the compression bolt can be bolted in straight and youre set. use a hammer and screwdriver to equalise it if its in crooked. and TAKE YOUR TIME.

i think wen it hits the bottom cuz if u ever saw the old pics it went through the bottom

its the metal ring thingy that goes onto the fork tube and is the part that the bearings rest on..
