How things have changed......

It's been a while! Nearly 4 years since I last logged on a couple of days ago and this is my first post since! And if it wasnt for a few kids turning up with Madd and Grit scooters at my local park I wouldnt have even known!

I can't believe how far the sport has come since then! The amount of publicity, new companies and suppliers, and just the sheer amount of scooter riders in general! Its great to see and I hope it keeps progressing in the right direction.

I moved onto BMX 4 years ago because I just kept destroying parts, and here in the UK, the availability of what was considered a decent scooter was sparse, its amazing to see all these properly engineered scooters available.

It seems scootering as a whole is still frowned upon by many who aren't involved in the sport though, and not because of the riders who are actually making the most of their scooters and actually doing respectable tricks and so on, but more (what seems to be the majority unfortunately) the young kids on their hella expensive pro-shit scooters just riding around, getting in the way, casing up every ramp within reach and just generally snaking everyone.

We can hate on these kids all we want, but at the end of the day they're destroying your reputation and they are also the future of the sport, and I notice on here there are still a load of people hating on 'noobs', you were one once, and although the sport is growing it still is relatively small and is STILL growing, so dont slow it down. All Im saying is, next time you see a kid on a scooter, show them a trick to learn, teach them some skatepark etiquette and maybe point them in the direction of this forum so they can get properly involved in the sport an scene. Sometimes you gotta help someone else to help yourself.

Anyways, rant over, I'll be back on a scooter shortly and will chuck up a little edit when I got the time.

Peace.
