How to clean your stock headset bearings?

Yes, i know there are many threads on this but they are dead and i still have some questions.

I just felt today that i really need to clean them. I know how to get to the bearings and stuff but do i have to use some kind of cream on them or something? Define grease ... do you mean cream grease or like liquid grease like WD-40? So what are the steps, also include what you use (brand).
So please dont hate, just answer, otherwise dont bother posting.

i dont no how do do stock headsets.. but in my king headset i clean it out then use either wd40 or 3-in-1 oil works good. normally both together

Ugh i need to wait for my dad to come home cuz i cant get my headset off!!! damm ... its never been tooken off before soo..gonna be hard. its a 08 pro btw.

WD-40 is a degreaser, and will clean it.
Use lithium or this other grease which is waterproof, (i forgot what it called) but its got a special ingredient or whatever

i soak the bearings in mineral spirits (paint thinner) to EVERYTHING off. You would be surprised to find that those bearings were once chrome. Then use some kind of grease after you clean it and put them back in.

no its not shut your mouth idiot, ky is water based and that'll cause your headset to rust.

also clean your bearings with some paint thinner, then soak them in rubbing alcohol. After get a couple of q-tips and some vaseline (patrollium jelly) or car part grease and apply it throughout your headset cups and put everything back together. Thats what I'm using in my headset right now and I get nothing but compliments about it.
