I need help on

finding out what the cords are called that attach a flash to a camera, the flash being on the hot shoe, if someone can send a link to one that would be great

they vary if depending on your camera/flash.

alot use pc cables. if you don't have pc input on your camera/flash, then you can just use a hot shoe extender.
 
well i'm probably going to get a sunpak or vivtar, and i just want to know what i should tell my parents to get because its probably going to be for christmas, so if someone could just link me that would be easyer

If your talking about having a cord so you can hold the flash in your hand while its still connected to the camera, Dylans right, its an off shoe cord.

Canon speedlite 430ex if you want your moneys worth. I don't know what else to recommend, im not into the other brands much.

i have vivitar 2800 its good

but martin recomended to me that i should get vivitar 285, i dont think its expensive and its powerful

yeh, u need recievers for the 285s tho like u need to be using them on slaves becoz they r too powerful for ur camera hotshoe
