This thread is for all the people who make the threads on their headsets.
Step 1-Remove the stock headset cups by taking a hitting a flathead with a hammer inside the headtube and align the flathead with the cups and with some force they will come out.
Step 2-Install the new headset cups by putting the new cup in the headset and putting a block of wood and hitting the wood with a hammer and they will eventually go in. I've heard that putting them in a vice and tightening it to the max works.
Step 3- Putting the bearing race thats this thing
and put it on by hammering it on or take it to your local bike shop.
Step 4- Take the bottom headset bearings and put them on your fork so that the flat side is facing the bottom of the fork and the curved side is in the headset and it fits perfect.
Step 5-Slide the fork through the headtube and put the headset bearings like you did before with the bottom bearings so that this time the flat side is facing up and the curved side fits perfectly in.
Step 6-Put the pinch ring which looks just like a ring with a slit in it put that in between the fork and the top headset bearings. MAKE SURE THE PINCH RING IS FULLY IN AND IN TIGHT
Step 7-Make sure the fork is pulled all the way up and take the dust cover which is like a circle and it usually has the headset's brand and name on it and slide it down your fork and make sure it is on tight.
DONT'S
DON'T-Hit the stock headset cups from the outside
DON'T-Hit the cups unprotected because they could get damaged.
DON'T-Put the bearings in with dirt or sand in them.
DON'T-Try to force anything more than it wants to go because it will break.
