Hey, I'm Lonnie, or more commonly known on car sites all over as "Orion ZyGarian". I'm 18, freshman at the University of Central Florida, and ride around campus to all my classes. It saves LOTS of time over walking!
I've been using the same exact scooter since December, 1999, where I got it for Christmas. Same wheels, same bearings, same everything. The only change it has ever had was the April after, I got a wheelie bar for it. This was back when they were real popular.
In fact, I have a JDRazor which was around $115 IIRC new. The website on the folding mechanism is "citybug.com". Build quality is absolutely excellent, as one can imagine something lasting for 8 years would be. The bottom is all sorts of scraped up and theres obvious wear, but I take very good care of it. It has outlasted everyone's I know who has had regular Razor scooters...even now, my bearings are still better than theres ever were!
Recently I've been riding through lots of rain that we've been getting lately, and my front bearing had lost its touch. Not knowing anything scooter specific, I washed it in my sink, though I had nothing but a razor (lol) to clean it with and I didnt want to take it apart and potentially ruin it or whatever grease it has in there. It has since been okay, but never as good as new.
I'll have some pictures soon...I should be getting back to my dorm tonight where my camera is.
