inward bar and forks problem?!?!?!

i just got my inward bars and 0 offset forks today but the forktube seems to be a bit too big. my bars dont go in the fork ,i had to take a flat head screwdriver and stretch the slit and got it in like a half inch.what do i do.pleez help!

it'll fit. take a rag and put it against the top of the bars. then, put a peice of wood on top of the cloth. then hammer the hell out of it.

no its threadless and i got it but the slit is too short and the fork tube is way big so i could almost get the bars on but not all the way so i used a headset spacer. works fine now exept id like it better if i didnt have to use the spacer.
