inward fork/bars help

so I have a threadless extreme fork with inward one piece bars on my scooter. I also have a very old crappy headset and I just recently bought a new one. the only problem is, is that i can't get my bars off of the fork so that I can take the fork/headset off. are there any tips to loosen the bars off of a threadless fork that wont destroy a paintjob?

try twisting and pulling or spray WD-40 into the slit of the bars and see if that helps

lift the scooter off the ground and slam your foot on the deck. do this a couple times and it should pop off
