Is this possible?

Alright guys, im tired of waiting for a dirt scooter to come out(in the us..if any are even 'sold' at all) so I'm thinking of making one myself. http://www.razor.com/us/products/electric-scooters/e300/

I want to buy a used e300 for cheap, take out the battery, motor, and chain. Then change the bars and put grip tape on the whole deck. Maybe have some reinforcements welded on if it's even possible to hit a jump with it. Let me know what you guys think.
AND for the people that are guna say "your not building it your just taking out the battery" I know that, all I'm wondering is if its a good idea

i think it would be better just to make one from the ground up. its not really that hard

i dont have a welder, if i installed reinforcements i would take it to my local welding place or find a friend with a dad that has 1...and yea those scooters are heavy but all the weight is in the battery and motor, which i would be taking out...the battery alone probably weighs a good 10 pounds

Why not? If you can get the frame for cheap then you are not too invested in it and not much to lose.

I say go for it- you'll learn what you want and don't want in a Dirt Scooter after this build.

theyre really weak on the botom of the headtube, my friend has on and he took out the motor and battery and all that good stuff and i could barspin on it but it weighed a good 20-25 punds and i dont think any pro would be able to whip it and i snapped it on the bottom of the headtube welds

edit: haha just found this on craigslist and it reminded me of the rad dirt scooter http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/3150052329.html but looks like it could banana easily

And the headset doesnt spin a full 360

is there something inside to stop it?

I can sorta see something on the outside used as a Stop so you don't spin the bars too far and wrap up the Throttle and Brake cables.

Seems easy enough to disable whatever mechanism is in place.

exactly what i was thinking...ill just buy a broke one off craigslist for like 50 bucks and see what happens...and for the fact that the headtube is weak ill have some reinforcements fabricated
