It's All Mental.

I've found out myself, that when you tell yourself that you can do something and believe that you can do it, you can. I was just riding out front this afternoon and believed and that I could do this trick off of my Ten Eighty kicker. And what do you know? I did it. I've also found that when I dedicate a trick, that I've never landed before, to someone I care about. I end up either coming closer to landing it, or actually landing it.

Who else has ever had this happen? Explain your experience.

When i was learning front scooterflips and had been trying for like 4 months and getting close to only one foot landings, i thought to myself,
"K this is stupid, i'm just making the scooter do a little flip. Just jump, let it flip, then land." Then I pictured it rotating around in my head and then putting my feet down, and i landed it right then. it was crazy.

But sometimes this works backwards too. Like our body tricks us into thinking we can do something when we really can't. Sometimes when I'm riding really well and I think to myself, "Fingerwhip on flat" on my longdeck micro, then I try, it doesn't end pretty at all haha.

I used to think about what Im doing wrong when trying a trick that I cant do but its pointless, cause youre forgetting about anything else. the thing that works the best is either picturing it in your mind (creating an image of you doing it with correctly), or just doing it, without thinking. Also I have learned many things like fingerwhips on flat and 180 front scooterflips by just trying it for kicks while not even hoping to land it and actually getting close, so my advice is to always think of some new stuff to try.

I didnt think a post could get better when i read Jasons...then i looked under it, and read Davids...<3 my two bed buddies. Anyways..Its all up to you when it comes to landing a trick..In your head no matter the trick your trying, you know if its possible for YOU to land or not, if you know you can land it, then do it...and when it gets to the point where your landing one footed...and or getting right next to the deck...well then your jes being a pussy.
