Chill, people.

The video was good. Crazy combos.. But I feel like without the "crazy for videos" music you used (I like stuff kinda like that, not hating), your style would look really hyper and jumpy. Not necessarily bad, just different. It could have its own steeze. But it went better because crazyfast music+quick video transitions, early cut clips like that, and your fast-paced riding=decently well together. Or at least they matched haha.
Good edit. It still makes me sick seeing videos labelled "Sponsor me" or asking to be sponsored. Ride for fun, you'll still accomplish just as much. <3

Alright, fine, enough religion debate from me.

I love doing those same kinds of grind/manny combos, but nowhere near that extent. There's enough tech in this video to rebuild society after nuclear fallout.

BUT...
Joey, you are REALLY good. I think you care a little too much about sponsors, though. You're on ECX, and you don't show much recognition for them. Since you got sponsored this is the first video I've seen with their logo in it. I took this from your other thread:

I'm in need of a manufacturer sponsor to further my career. If you're interested in sponsoring me please email me at joey_aria@yahoo.com and I will send you my resume and contract. No games please, just business.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you NEED a manufacturer sponsor? You have ECX.. Even though they aren't a manufacturer, they still support you. Also, if you want a sponsor you should contact companies.. Not make them contact you.
Kieran said this in your thread,
Surely you have been in the sport long enough to realise that you don't NEED a sponsor and you don't make a thread asking for one.
I completely agree with him. When I met you at the ECX Fall Brawl, you KILLED it. You're extremely good, and SO consistent it's ridiculous. BUT, from what I see from you online, you revolve around sponsors. One of my favorite things about your riding is your simple scooter. You don't need something good to be good at it.

Also, about the quotes. Good for you that you believe in God, and good for you to show it. Although, I think the scootering scene is not the place to be spreading your ideas and thoughts on Religion. Most of this sport is young, revolving around 13-15 year olds. Most kids at that age don't care for it whatsoever, and as you can clearly see in this thread, some are against religion + scootering being mixed together.

ECX is the best sponsor I've ever had. Mike puts his heart into the sport. I'm very happy to be part of the team. They were the first to really give me a chance and their support is great. What I'm seeking is a partnership with a big company to further my involvement in the sport. I'm a full time working young adult, not living with my parents, blessed with two jobs, and engaged to be married. Where would our top pros be without the support of their sponsors? Could they afford to do what they're doing without their sponsors? They ride for the fun of it but it is by the help of their sponsors that the can accomplish so much. Companies sponsor them because they see that they have potential. Top pros and their backing can tell you enough about that. Unfortunately a family based scooter shop and my nonprofit ministry can only support me so much. I do not send emails to companies as easily because I put so much time into them, attaching a resume and agreement contract yet still getting no response.

This is not a “Sponsor Me” video. It was produced by SoloChristo and I took up the opportunity to use it to promote those who support me. SoloChristo is a Christian scooter ministry like the many skateboard ministries; Untitled Skateboards, Boarders For Christ, King of Kings, Siren Skateboards, and more. These ministries share scripture on their videos, websites, and products; everywhere. Yet you can find them featured in top magazines, websites, and TV shows in the skateboard industry. They also do demos all over the country and worldwide. They are friends with top professional skaters. How could this be?

It’s because skateboarders share the common ground of doing what they love to do, skateboarding. The sport is about fun and self-expression. Some people’s version of fun is smoking and promoting drugs, sex, and guns through the sport; a lifestyle with no care for God. Others promote love, peace, and joy; a lifestyle seeking and sharing God. We express ourselves differently because we are different people. The first line of our Mission Statement published on our website and social networking pages say:

“Solo Christo (meaning "Christ Alone") is a Christian scooter ministry which was birthed out of a desire to share God’s love, mercy, and grace with the world. More importantly, we want to share God’s plan of salvation for your life.”

You should not be surprised when we do this. For those who wish we didn’t exist, we thank God that you exist. For those who are encouraged by us, thank you for your support. Now I personally want to say to everyone who has expressed their hatred for me; I love you all.

Luke 6:35
"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked."

You seem quite successful. If you're so successful and so happy to be a part of ECX, I don't see why you NEED to be sponsored by a manufacturer? And once again, it seems wrong for you to want a sponsor but not even want to email them. It's not that hard to copy/paste(CTRL+C & CTRL+V) three to four paragraphs about yourself and your riding, and sending it to several companies that interest you.. It still seems more "correct" for the rider to send in his videos to the companies. And I have nothing against you, or God. I clearly said that in my post. I'm Christian, too, and I believe in God, as well as karma. I don't spread my beliefs to others, for I feel that everyone should make their own decisions (especially when it comes to religion). You're a REALLY good rider, and you're mad chill and nice. Just you seem to care too much about sponsors. There are still many riders out there who keep progressing and getting better, even without sponsors.

Also, if this isn't a "Sponsor Me" video, why would you make a thread trying to get sponsored specifically by a Manufacturer and put this video in the thread? This video would be what got you sponsored, giving it the label/term "Sponsor Video."

Skateboarders have more Christian Ministries because skateboarding is an older sport. People respect each other more than they do here. As you can clearly see on the forums, most people can't get along. Scooter riders are also generally a few years younger than skaters (for the most part). Most skaters I know are between 17-20. Most scooter riders I know are between 13-16. I'm sure older people are less likely to argue with you over what you do. They're more mature. Of course, there are exceptions.. But overall, you'd be more respected by skaters because they're generally older.

Joey,

We support you 100%! You shred, you live the sport and you have strength in your beliefs. Regardless if everyone or no one agrees with you it shouldn't matter. I applaud the fact that you have a conviction and a maturity that will take you far in this life. Keep it up!

I need to test this. When I see you, I'm going to punch you in the face and I expect nothing short of a "Thank you, may your day be wonderful."

Joe, I think he needs a manufacturer to get some lowercase t bars produced. Like SZ nipples with a bigger nipple, knowutimsayin

naahh im just being a dick. Dude, I have an idea, release TWO vids! One with religious mumbo jumbo and one without, post both here and people will have the option to click either or. Problem solved!

All I'm saying is that if I based a scooter edit around Atheism and posted it up here, I'd get so much shit for it. It's unnecessary. He's religious. Cool. I don't care that he's religious, I just find it a bit arrogant that I get flamed for posting my opinion when his is plastered all over his god damn video. Which is why it's just smarter to keep religion out of it, because it just starts unnecessary drama.
Dude I agree with you. But you have to remember, this is the internet, and people are idiots on the internet, which means that the second you post your opinion, that's it. Hate for life. It's fighting a loosing battle. People will always be ignorant to other people.

honestly, nobody should care if he posts religious stuff in his videos. if you find it offensive just dont watch the video. plain and simple.

Joey that was super clean and really techy, alll good stuff. Keep it up! I say more and more street ftw.

As for the ministry aspect, I don't think you guys realize but if you didn't pick up on it that is a big reason why he made this video.

Sure you don't think there is a God, most of the people (obviously by the replies) on here don't. Like other skateboarding, bmx, and other you name it sports teams out there though, trying to get God to come up in the discussion is the conviction he has here. It was on purpose!

I don't want to start a big argument or anything here either though. Arguments weren't the goal I can tell you from Joey's perspective too. But the reason for solochristo being around is for people who are mature enough to discuss (yes, DISCUSS and be open to thinking about) God, their religion, or the lack thereof, and the reasons why we believe what we do. You want to know the truth don't you?

If you don't want to watch his video and be subject to a couple Bible verses then nobody's making you! A big reason to include it though is for the people who ARE willing to make a mature comment about something that is pretty important in the long run for all of us, believing God or not... Obviously not forgetting the reason why we are all on sr in the first place though, because we enjoy riding and to give feedback on the video!

Sooo.. For the sake of arguing lets keep the comments to a "constructive criticism" or "compliment" shall we?

If you are mature enough to post something serious about beliefs then talk about it. Just please think about it before you say something to start a fight. Or take it to the solochristo website, pm, etc.

God bless!
