Well, ive decided that I want to start scootering today now, i weigh 215 lbs and am in pretty good shape, I was looking at the razor ultra pro, but I was wondering if you guys could recommend a scooter for me to buy ;D

well, the pro model is 60$ and the ultra pro is 80$, so it seems like it would be worth the extra 25$ overall. Besides, i allready have been doing it on a shitty 30$ razor, and after breaking the deck today, I decided that it was time to upgrade. So far I can barspin, tailwhip, and 180. So should I go for the ultra pro or is their another better scooter I can buy thats under 120??

the ultra pro is a good light scooter, i dont think there is another scooter under 120 that is really worth buying

How fast will they break??

not very fast. bars = a year at least, wheels = 10 months if hotglued, bearings = lifetime, deck = longer than 6 months forsure, grips = change them, brake/spring = lifetime, forks = longer than 6 months forsure and thats about it.

so basically u want to change the grips, hotglue the wheels and you are set for about a year.

How/what is hotgluing a wheel??

you put hot glue in the core and it keeps them from breaking. i do it to all of mine. you tape off one side. put hot glue in the other side. overfill the other side and once its hardened you take a knife and cut it flush.

Do you have to do that with the metal cored ones too? What are the best wheels/bearings I can buy??

no u only do it to plastic cores so they dont shatter, rush bearings are only 10bucks for 8 and they are amazingly good

So, this is what im going to do,
Scooter: Razor Ultra pro
Grips: Animal edwins, I use odi longnecks for bmx atm, but as I use gloves their, but wont scootering, I think im going to go for comfort. The stock animal pc barends should do
Hot glue mod the wheels
Then just ride it and when ever I feel like upgrading, or break something, upgrade it?

Well then on friday im going too buy the ultra pro, some animal edwins, and some hot glue, ride my bike home, Hot glue those wheels up, throw it togeather, throw the grips on, and learn how to scooter like a man Irrelevant topic tho, ive always wanted like a 2' tall 8' wide mini ramp in my garage from when I used to skate, how relevant would that be for rainy days on a scooter??
